How Can severe Buttock Pain Be Treated?

I fell on my buttocks this afternoon after I missed the chair I thought was right behind me. I fell particularly hard on my left side even though I did not fall on my left side. There is no swelling or bruising. I can sit comforably, with no pain, but when I lift my leg to walk up a stair I feel pain in the front of my hip joint. It is painful to move my leg sideways to step out of the dtiver s side of my car. I can extend my leg backwards and side to side while balanced on my right foot, but again when I lift forward, the pain is in the front of the hip joint. What do recommend I do?
